How to achieve 100% hygiene in washing hotel linens?

1. Linen thermal method

The recommended hot washing method for hotel laundry is to wash for 10 minutes at a low temperature of 80 ℃. The washing temperature and time determine the fundamental factors of linen, and the drying process of the dryer can also reduce microorganisms and disease residues.

2. Linen chemical method

The coagulation and denaturation of bacterial proteins disrupt their physiological functions in order to achieve their goals. When hotels wash temperature sensitive fabrics such as synthetic fibers, wool, or use low-temperature washing, chemical methods must be used to achieve linen.

(1) Usage agent (taking CasiHaibao bleaching solution as an example)

Soaking: concentration 250ppm-400ppm, time greater than 20 minutes.

Washing: Wash with 200ppm bleaching solution at 40 ℃ and 100ppm at 60 ℃.

(2) Use peracetic acid based cleaning agents (taking CasiHaibao low-temperature oxygen bleaching solution as an example)

Soaking: concentration of 0.2-0.5%, and time greater than 10 minutes.

Washing: Use bleaching solution, 2ml per liter of water, wash at 60 ℃.

Attention: When using chemical methods to wash linen, all washing standardization operations must be carried out according to the specifications of the chemicals used.

3. Linen illumination method

By utilizing physical effects such as temperature to denature or coagulate microbial proteins or enzymes, the goal is achieved. The illumination method mainly uses ultraviolet radiation to cause death.

(1) Sunlight exposure method: Sunlight exposure method is used for pillows, mattresses, mattresses, cotton wool, etc. Generally, the effect can be achieved after 6 hours of exposure, during which it needs to be flipped over every 2 hours.

(2) Ultraviolet method: used for air and object surfaces.

Attention: Ultraviolet rays and sunlight can cause certain harm to the human body and linens, and strict operating procedures must be followed. In addition, UV lights in the room cannot be used for linens, but can be used for hard surfaces in contact with linens.

How to prevent the breeding of linen and cross contamination

The secondary pollution after washing linen can easily cause the growth and cross contamination of washed linen, and much work still needs to be done to prevent it.

1. Hygiene requirements for linen in the washing workshop

a) The laundry room should be clearly divided into dirty and clean areas.

b) The transfer method of linen in the laundry room is one-way flow from the dirty area to the clean area.

c) The direction of air flow is from the clean area to the dirty area.

d) The linen carts in the dirty and clean areas are strictly distinguished and mixed use is prohibited.

e) Clean the surface in contact with clean linen every 2 hours.

f) Fly lamps or high-pressure insect traps are required for classification areas, dirty areas, and clean areas.

g) Employees in dirty and clean areas are prohibited from entering each other's areas.

h) Wash hands and use hand products whenever in contact with clean linens.

2. Requirements for the transportation of clean linen

a) Vehicles and tools used for transporting linen must undergo surface inspection every time.

b) Vehicles and tools transporting linen need to have a cover to completely cover the linen.

c) The outer cover should be cleaned after use and cannot be reused.

d) The transportation of linens cannot be carried in the same elevator as food and garbage.

e) Employees transporting linen need to use non washable hand sanitizer before coming into contact with clean linen.

3. Temporary storage requirements for clean linen in the linen room

a) The shelves and surfaces for storing linen in the linen room need to be used daily.

b) The linen stored in the linen room cannot exceed 7 days.

c) Garbage, dirty linens, and other cleaning tools cannot be stored in the linen room.

d) Prevent rodents and pests in the linen area.

e) UV lamp irradiation method can be used in the linen room.

4. Clean linen collection and use

a) Employees should wash their hands and use hand products when using linens.

e) The unused linens in the room need to be followed up or washed again after 7 days.

Pay attention to the hygiene of washing water quality

The water used for washing linen is often overlooked during the washing process, but in fact, the fresh water used for washing is also an important factor in causing growth. Although there are regulations that require the use of fresh, drinkable water for washing, storing the washing water in a water tank before washing may lead to recurrence.

Although linen is cleaned during the main washing stage, it is prone to re contact with water containing secondary pollution during the water passing step. This harmful problem may even become worse during ironing and drying. To address this, low concentrations of secondary acid salts are added to the storage water tank to promote further growth and ensure adequate washing water.
